The Descent from the Cross is the second altarpiece now adorning the Cathedral of Our Lady in Anvers. Commissioned by by the Confraternity of the Arquebusiers. It was painted after the first triptych "The Elevation of the Cross", and still retains traces of Rubens' Italian Baroque Art influences.
