Gaudenzio Ferrari (1470-1540)

Gaudenzio Ferrari was an Italian painter, sculptor and architect of the Late Renaissance age, born in Valduggia di Valesia cca. 1470 and deceased in Milan in 1546.

Influenced by Leonardo da Vinci, Ferrari stood up through his religious paintings and through his command of the art of the fresco.

Works like "The Life of Christ" and the "Crucifixion" at Varallo, and the "Assumption of the Virgin" set Ferrari apart as one of the great artists of the school of Milan.
