Franciabigio (1482-1525)

Francesco de Cristofano Franciabigio was an Italian painter who was born and died in Florence (1482 - 1525), and belonged to the High Renaissance Florentine art school.

Franciabigio was a student of artist Andrea del Sarto (like Vasari), and was very skilled in the art of the fresco.

In 1514 he painted a "Last Supper" (at the Convento della Calza, Florence), and "The Betrothal of the Virgin" (at SS. Annunziata, in Florence, in 1513).
