Fra Bartolomeo (1472-1517)

Bartolomeo della Porta, or Fra Bartolomeo, was an Italian painter of the Order of the Dominicans, who was born and died in Florence (1472-1517).

He was the author of great religious paintings, featuring graceful, expressive compositions, most of them now hosted in museums and collections in Florence.

Among his most famous works we include "Madonna della Misericordia", "Lamentation", "The Adoration of the Child", and "The Mystic Marriage of St. Catherine".
