Filippino Lippi (1457-1504)

Filippino Lippi was the son of Florentine painter Filippo Lippi del Carmine. Filippino was born at Prato in 1457, and died in Florence in 1504. He was distinguished through his elegant arabesques called grotteschi.

Pilippino authored portraits and many religious paintings like "The Apparition of The Virgin to St Bernard", "St Philip Driving the Dragon from the Temple of Hieropolis", and "Triumph of St Thomas Aquinas over the Heretics".
