Bernardino Licinio (1489-1565)

Bernardino Licinio, born in Poscante in 1485, and established in Venice, was a painter from the Late Renaissance period, who was specialized in the art of the portrait.

His style showed connections with the formalism of Titian and Palma Vecchio, characterized by a naturalistic approach, and the use of vibrant colours.

Among his notable works, "Family Portrait" (1525, displayed at The Hermitage, St. Petersburg), and "Portrait of a Woman with a Book" (Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest).
