Andrea Solario (1458-1509)

Brother of Italian sculptor and architect Cristofor Solario, Andrea Solario (also known as Andrea del Gobo), was born in 1458 and died approximately after 1509. He had a great reputation as a High Renaissance painter of the Milanese school.

Andrea Solario authored the beautiful "Madonna of the Green Cushion", "The Death of Cleopatra", and "Rest on the Flight to Egypt", as well as numerous portraits.
